The 2020/21 uprate was confirmed pre-COVID and applied on 1 April 2020 as planned, despite the pandemic. The 25+ NLW threshold still applied.

- 18-20 (or development rate): £6.45/hr
- 16-17: £4.55/hr
- Apprentice: £4.15/hr
- Accommodation offset: £8.20/day

Context
Furlough applied to gross pay so could fall below NMW in 80%-pay cases, but the NMW floor still applied for hours actually worked. HMRC published specific furlough-era NMW guidance during 2020-21.
